World Hand Hygiene Day 2024

We are celebrating the day this year by organising an International Dance Video and Poster making Competition.

Promoting knowledge and capacity building of health and care workers through innovative and impactful training and education, on infection prevention and control, including hand hygiene.

Why is sharing knowledge about hand hygiene still so important? Because it helps stop the spread of harmful germs in healthcare.

This year’s World Hand Hygiene Day theme highlights on the promotion of spreading hand hygiene knowledge to all the healthcare professionals using innovative ideas, training and education.

This will enable everyone to adopt the hand hygiene practice regularly following the necessary hand wash/hand rub steps. If all the healthcare professionals are updated importance of hand hygiene, this will prevent the burden of infectious diseases.

As per WHO, hand hygiene improvement programmes can prevent up to 50% avoidable infections acquired during health care delivery and generate economic savings on average 16 times the cost of implementation.

QAI is organising a dance video and a poster making competition to highlight the importance of hand hygiene for World Hand Hygiene Day 2024!

All interested candidates are welcome to participate and showcase their innovative ways in hand hygiene more adaptable focussing on increasing the compliance. Focus on this year's theme and get a chance of winning the first-second-third place prize as Cash vouchers.

Dance Video Making

A dance video is a great way to engage everyone and raise awareness about the importance of hand hygiene. What can you include:

Prepare a Theme: Choose a specific theme related to hand hygiene, such as "Clean Hands, Healthy Lives" or "Dance for Hygiene" etc.
Time duration: Not more than 50 seconds (less than 100 MB)
Judging Criteria: Focus will be on creativity, choreography and incorporation of hand hygiene messages.
An opportunity to win a Grand Prize and Recognition
The winning dance videos will be showcased in the webinar scheduled on 4 May 2024 at 2 PM.
All the videos will be published on QAI social media platforms to reach a wider audience.

Poster Making

Poster making is a creative way to engage people and promote awareness about hand hygiene.

Define the Theme: Choose a specific theme related to hand hygiene, such as "Keep Your Hands Clean," "Stop the Spread of Germs," or "Hand Hygiene Saves Lives" which should be aligned with this year's theme.
Format: It can be a word file/PDF/JPG/JPEG. Participants can make posters using digital platforms or hand-drawn. Content must include a catchy slogan.
Judging Criteria: Focus will be on creativity, relevance to the theme, clarity of message, and effectiveness in promoting hand hygiene awareness.

The winning posters will be showcased in the webinar scheduled on 4 May 2024 at 2 PM.
All the posters will be published on QAI social media platforms to reach a wider audience.

Grand Prize

1st Prize: Rs. 10,000/-

2nd Prize: Rs. 7500/-

3rd Prize: Rs. 5000/-

Cash Voucher worth Rs. 3000 (can be redeemed during any training) will be awarded to 4th, 5th and 6th position.
